Reflecting His Heart

Our Story
Reflecting His Heart (RH2) was founded in 2021, not out of a master plan, but out of a quiet yes to the Lord’s calling.
Jonathan Elicier had just graduated from Newberry College with a degree in Biology and minors in Business Administration and Coaching. He was preparing to stay in Central Florida to coach and work in travel baseball. But after a second mission trip to Haiti, God stirred something deeper in his heart, something he could no longer ignore.
That same year, Jonathan stepped away from the path he thought he was on and launched Reflecting His Heart, a Christian 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to loving people like Jesus does. With no salary, no large platform, and no big strategy, just a surrendered heart, he followed God's lead into full-time missions, trusting Him for daily provision and direction.
What began as one person’s step of obedience quickly became something more. In 2024, Jonathan married his best friend and ministry partner, Morgan Elicier, and their team grew to two people on the ground in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
While small in number, they are never alone. A growing family of supporters, encouragers, and prayer warriors from around the world continues to love, pray for, and strengthen the work being done.
At its core, Reflecting His Heart is not about making a name for ourselves. It's not about numbers, applause, or platforms. It’s simply about this: saying yes to Jesus, walking in step with the Spirit, and loving people like He does—one relationship at a time.
"As in water face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects the man." - Proverbs 27:19
Our Purpose
By striving to reflect the heart of Jesus to all we encounter, we exist to show that a life with Jesus is a life worth living.
"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." - Galatians 2:20
Our Mission
We prayerfully move in step with the Spirit day by day.
One day may be gathering with Haitian women to share the Gospel and encourage them.
Another may be taking a mom and her daughter to a doctor's appointment.
One day may involve building a house, a bridge, or helping with a construction project.
Another may be supporting educational needs—whether sponsoring a child, spending time with students, or encouraging the staff at a local school.
No matter what the day holds, we desire to walk hand in hand with the locals around us, doing life together in a way that points them to Jesus.
Our prayer is that, through genuine, deep relationship, their faith in Christ would become their own.
"If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit." - Galatians 5:25
Our Vision
A future where the island of Hispaniola is liberated and united through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." - 2 Corinthians 3:17
Ministry Efforts
At Reflecting His Heart, our ministry is rooted in relationships and shaped by the needs of the people God places in front of us. While no two days look the same, our focus remains steady across four key areas:
We carry out these ministries in and through local churches, local schools, and local communities—always aiming to reflect the heart of Jesus through every conversation, connection, and act of service.
Our Commitment
- We’re not a big-name organization—and we’re not trying to be.
We’re simply disciples of Jesus, trying to make a difference through meaningful relationships and Spirit-led service. - We strive to walk with people, not ahead of them.
Our heart is to build authentic disciples of Jesus by mentoring and doing life alongside “the least of these,” just like He did. - We strive to follow the Spirit, not a script.
Ministry for us isn’t confined to a category or a strategy. If God leads us to build today and visit a family tomorrow, we follow with open hands. - We strive to give our whole selves.
Jesus didn’t hold back—He gave everything for us. We aim to reflect that same heart by offering our time, effort, and even our homes to those we serve. - We strive to love like Jesus.
We believe every person has the opportunity to receive salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. And while we’ll never love as perfectly as He does, we will never stop trying to love people the way He loved us. - We value people over projects.
Our model is not transactional. We focus on deep, real connection—with God and with others—believing that discipleship happens in the context of relationship. - We don’t profit off the people we serve.
Our mission is never about branding, optics, or emotional persuasion. It is not about a “poster child” or guilt-based giving here. This is not about us. It’s about pointing to the only one who deserves the glory: God. Dios. Bondye.
Come reflect His heart with us—one step, one life, one story at a time.
